John Amos Comenius (1592-1670)
One of the greatest educational thinkers in history. He spent his whole life teaching, writing textbooks and laying theoretical foundations for many educational issues, especially those related to didactics. Born in Moravia, the last bishop of the Bohemian Brethren in Poland, Comenius spent more than 25 years in Poland as a teacher at Rafał Leszczynski’s school. He also worked in England, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands.
